horse ridding

    This huge white beautiful horse watched me as I pulled up in the car, There was a sign that said horse riding. I think it was my lucky day, I begged my mum to do it with me and Riana, so she did.

I struggled as i tried to get onto the horse, so  a nice man helped me on. The Instructor explained where he will be taking us and how long the horse ride will take. My beautiful white princess ran off a head of everyone, I felt like i was on a movie, with my hair flowing through the wind on a hot beautiful day. I waited at this wine place for a while, waiting for the others. Finally they caught up and we were on our way again.

We passed heaps of wineries, we finally got to  the beach. We rode through water, And up the some hills.We then got to a little flax bush and that's were my mums horse pushed her off and onto the ground.She then realised she is not the type of cowgirl she thought she was. An hour passed and we started to ride back.

We finally got to take off those tight, sexy hats. And stretched my tied legs.

Outlook for someday reflections

In Room 13 we entered a competition called Outlook for someday, our movie was about how the world has changed since our teachers and grandparents were younger. It was part of our sustainability inquiry.  I was in a group of five with Ryley, Shannon, Callista and Rochelle.  Here is our movie:

Something that I learnt from this project that I  did not know before was?.
In the early days, they use to  have milk and every morning the milk man would deliver it to there doors.

The part of this project that was most challenging for me was?
 sorting out the voice over for Callista's grandparents and trying to interview them from South Africa.

The part of this project I found most rewarding was?
I think founding out how the world use to be like and what Mr G, Callista's grandparents and Shannon's Nana had to say about how our world has changed  a lot since they were kids.

The thing I need to improve on the most is?
most likely Editing and learning my lines properly.

The thing I found that i am really good at is?
Talking clearly and staying on topic.

If i had to do another outlook for someday movie, the things i would do differently are?
Try to make it a little shorter, look into the video camera at all times and learn my lines.

Matariki panels

How do you celebrate Matariki? well I'll tell you how room 13 celebrates It, we made Matariki panels. Matariki is a cluster of stars also known as pleiades. It signals the Moari New year, It comes early may.

Our first step of making a Matariki panel was to draw our designs on a peace of paper, There were three slots ,the top is representing new growth,The middle one representing you and your family. And the last one is Matariki.

Second we painted our panels black and then taped it with masking tape. We then drew our designs on our panels. My top slot is a koru with little korus growing from it representing growth, My middle design is triangles which is me and my family.In the triangles are leafs and nature. Last but not leased my last slot.The seven stars which is representing the 7 sisters.

We then cut out our shapes and designs. After we cut them out we painted them, Mine turned out really bright, we then started ripping of the tape that acted as stencils.

Over all It really enjoyed it, but it was really hard ripping of the tape. I hope to do it again sometime.

Trip to Taupo

It was a hot sunny day and the traffic was moving like a Snail ,  So me and my family went out for Ice-cream. They were huge, it was a Ice-cream Heaven with chocolate bits in it. After that we got back on the road, we past heaps of smelly farms.

As we got to Taupo we saw all the snow. We stopped the car and had a snow fight , i got hit in the face  and my nose  started bleeding thanks to my older brother! Then we set off to find somewhere to stay, After a hours worth of looking we found a motel by lake Taupo. We all got settled in. Me and my sister had to share a room,while my brothers got their own rooms. Later on that day mum took us to lake Taupo. I was so happy I ran straight in, I didn't realize what i got myself into, I kept looking under the water like something was going to pop out. As i was about to completely scream my head off I saw a little thing in the water so i decided to go and play on it.

My mums friend had to come and get me because i didn't want to swim back. We spent three days at Taupo most of those days were sight seeing and long walks. After that my legs were so tired so i went to bed as soon as i got home.

Cross Country

Its my big day, I'm waiting at the start line nervously,Every bone in my body is shaking like a loose screw on a car wheel ."On your marks get set go" yells Mr O'C. That was me ,I started to run around  the small block it  felt like  a small Volcano had erupted in my body, that little  urge to go faster.Finally it was time to run up the big hill Ranui Terrace .That was the worst bit of the whole thing I was so sore. As I was running down the hill I could see all the smiling faces cheering me on . All I could think about was trying to push myself  to go faster  and those two words that Mr Rickard Taught me "keep moving ".

Finally I could see the school again I began to push myself even more like a lion trying to get its pray. I could see people in front of me as I  passed them I said "Thank you have a good run " And they laughed. As I saw the few 100 m i sprinted my heart out. Everyone was cheering it made my feel happy like a rainbow was sharing its love into my tired heart. That day I missed out by one place I came 11th as I went to give in my card Miss T told me to do a big smile into her iPhone"Well done Miss T"  said and I was walked back to class.

Athletics Day

On Thursday 16Th February Room 13 got ready to go to  Ngati toa domain with Pouakai syndicate at Tawa intermediate. We all sat there nervously waiting for the bell to ring so we can go and have some fun with our friends.

“bring bring”  goes  the bell we started to line up ,when we got there we numbered off from 1-28.

When the train comes we all go and pick a spot ,  I could see all the smiling kids faces as we arrive. We all sat  there ready to get our next instructions . I hear people talking about how much fun it’s going to be .Me and my friends go and pick a spot at the park ,time to eat nikki yells!. So we unpack our lunch and put our food  into the middle. I decided to bring up what had happened on the way to the train station ,shannon walked into a sign. Everyone starts cracking up ,at that point I had become the entertainment I told all my friends these funny stories I had never seen someone laugh so much in my life. After that we asked if we could go to the beach once it was open ,yes you may the beach is now open.       

Me and my friends go and get changed and run into the water i could hear everyone yelling. As soon as bex comes in she pushes me in the water .”It is freezing cold “i yell .My and callista hop out and start to sunbathe on the painful rocks.  After about an hour my friends got sick of the water and went to changed with me and callista .”Time to pack up says Mr o’c

Everyone starts to walk to the station it was sad to leave because it was a really fun day and it brought me and my friends closer I now know more about them and got to know my teacher a little bit better.
